Our babies and toddlers room (0 to 3 years)
Your child can safely learn to crawl, stand and walk in areas appropriate to their learning, with lots of time for hugs and stories on laps. It’s so important to get those cuddles.
Your child will spend time either in the baby area or toddler areas and at times the children mix together. We also offer sibling time for children with older brothers and sisters at the nursery.
Separate sleep/resting area
Your child can rest quietly and safely in our sleep/rest room which enables your child’s daily routine to be mirrored at nursery, aiding a smooth transition between home and nursery. Your child will be carefully monitored by staff.
Our separate sleep/resting area is away from the noise and distraction of the other children and activities.
Your child will be cared for by our friendly and dedicated team, with a vast amount of experience, both as parents themselves and as childcare practitioners.
Staff are trained to develop a stimulating environment that will help your child to flourish and grow.
They will help your child learn, using teaching methods specially designed for children under three years old, to ensure all areas of their development are encouraged.
Children love to get messy and are naturally curious. At Children’s House Nursery we too like to get messy with activities like finger-painting, colouring, painting, cornflour, custard, jelly, sand and water play amongst many others.
These activities might be a bit messy, but they’re great at supporting your child with:
- New textures, such as the feeling of finger paint
- Learning how paint and paper move, and what she can do with them
- Developing all kinds of fine motor skills, as she uses her fingers, feet and so on
- Expressing her thoughts, experiences or ideas.
Please don’t be disappointed if you child doesn’t end up with a finished product. They certainly won’t be bringing home a perfect piece of art. That’s not what we value – we value the experience.
The most important thing is for them to explore their creative self.
For younger children (up to around 18 months) we offer Tiny Talk Baby Signing classes – amazing first communication for babies.
Free Stay & Play and Craft sessions
Choosing childcare is a difficult and important decision. In order for you to make an informed choice we offer FREE stay and play sessions. You can come along with your little one and join in fun activities with your child.
This gives you an opportunity to get to know our team of practitioners and learn more about how we work here at Children’s House Nursery and all the fun we get up to. We do advise you to come with some spare clothing for your child as we love to get messy.
We also offer a FREE craft session, with a theme e.g. ‘Whole Lot of Love’ for Valentine’s and ‘Mother’s Tea Party’ for Mother’s Day etc.
So why not book either a stay and play or craft session now by calling 01636 378130 (or completing our contact form)
Your child will be allocated a key person when they first start at Children’s House Nursery. This member of the nursery team will be your main point of contact and will be the person your child first creates a strong attachment with at nursery. We try and get this right but sometimes your child attaches to a different member of staff – so we change to ensure the right support is given to your child.
The key worker is responsible for ensuring your child meets age-related standards set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework (in respect of learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old). All schools and Ofsted-registered Early Years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, pre-schools, nurseries and school reception classes.
When we feel your child is developmentally ready we will start to discuss with you your child’s transition into our pre-school Foundation Unit. This is our pre-school nursery room for children aged from 3+ years (housed in its own separate building).
Please contact us on 01636 378130 for an informal chat about how we can meet your early years nursery needs.
